Clothes of native land, like Borshchevskaya shirt, can tell a lot interesting about historical events and society development. Borschiv shirts are very often indentified with tragedy of Tatar invasion, during which all men of majority villages of Borshciv region were killed. But you should not dwell on only this interpretation of Ukrainian embroidery shirts (vishivanka or vyshivanka) origin.
